A Subrip format, or SRT, is a subtitle file that can be read by video playback programs such as Microsoft Windows Media Player and Apple iTunes.
SRT subtitles can be opened with special programs made to run them in conjunction with the movie you are watching. Also video player players have the ability to read and play SRT files.
It is possible to open and edit SRT file with any text editor program such as Notepad or WordPad.
SRT files are text files. Information in SRT files could be viewed or edited with any text editor.
